George KERRIGAN

My deepest love and sympathy to Naomi, Diara, Callum, Zachary and the family Kathleen and George Senior, Catriona and Christopher, Suzie and Brian and their Family. The death of George Kerrigan is very sad indeed and the world is a poorer place without him. I could write a book on the many times he has made me laugh, when he has comforted me and been there when I needed support, when he has been hospitable and generous. George was a funny, strong, committed, loyal, caring and ethical friend. Naomi and George would visit my old aunty Nola when she was sick then stood with me at the funeral to provide comfort. He would always dress up for funerals as a sign of respect. He was with me when my Dad died and provided strength. He could make me laugh showing me videos of his doing funny things or celebrating or at times being naughty. He would laugh or shake his head dependent on the situation. He would call in at home for a cuppa, a chat, and a laugh or both or a swim and a day by the pool. He was kind and generous and he would enjoy taking control of the Christmas meal cooking. He would come to Dragons Footy Games and always either celebrate in their win or despair at the losses but always was good company. He was determined or stubborn and at times I would despair! He took forever to progress the proposal and engagement to Naomi but eventually he let me organise the engagement party - I was worried as the surprise party was to be the next day and he still hadn't proposed! He was a hardworking, terrific worker and colleague - his values and work ethic shone through. I saw him or talked to him almost every day when he was in Australia and when they returned to Ireland to be with family my heart broke, but it was the right thing to do, and we knew we would see him again on holidays. To have to say a final goodbye is heart breaking. My love and sympathy to Naomi, the children and the family. Gone too soon. Dear Naomi,

Please accept our sincere condolences to you, your sweet children and both families, we were truly saddened to hear of George’s passing.

As there is nothing at this point that can suppress the sheer grief that is felt, please know George is at peace, surrounded by family and friends on home soil.
