Gerard Woods
The brothers and sisters of the late Gerard (Gerry) Woods would like to thank all those who sympathised with them in their recent sad loss, those who attended the wake and funeral,brought gifts of food during the wake.
A special “Thank you” to all the extended family who were great support during Gerard’s final weeks in Daisy Hill and during the wake, providing refreshments and helping with parking at the house also not least to those who prepared Gerard’s final resting place.
We thank Fr Barry Mathews who celebrated a very fitting funeral mass for Gerard assisted by Fr O’Hagan and Fr Sheehan. We appreciate all the musicians and singers who came together to pay a personal tribute to Gerard.
Thank you to Fr Sean Moore who supported Gerard over the years and Canon Sean O’Neill who visited the house.To Martin the sacristan our thanks for all the preparation for the Funeral mass.
We thank the members of the Lourdes committee who escorted Gerard on his final journey to St John’s chapel. Also Middletown Gaa, the Lourdes group and prayer groups who provided guard of honour at the chapel.
Thank you to the doctors, staff and district nurses from Tynan surgery who looked after Gerard over the years also staff from Tynan Pharmacy.
To all the cares who looked after Gerard at home a big “thank you”
We extend our thanks to the doctors and staff from Daisy Hill hospital who cared for Gerard in his final illness. A special mention to Stella the hospital chaplain who brought comfort to us at a difficult time.
To McEntees catering for the delicious food provided after the funeral and Middletown market house committee for the use of the hall thank you.
We thank Eamon and Martin of hughes undertakers and especially Paddy for his guidance and his support throughout.
Thanks to all who gave donations in lieu of flowers to BBS. a charity close to Gerard’s heart.
And finally thank you to all for the mass cards letters and messages of condolence.
Gerard’s month mind mass will be in St John’s chapel Middletown on Friday the 24th of October at 7.30 pm.
