Seskinore, Co Tyrone
Died 2 February 2026

We, the family of the late Gerry, wish to extend our deep gratitude and warmest thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers and support during our recent sad bereavement. Gerry was a much-respected member of the community and primarily was a loving family man – the devoted husband of Kathleen, adored father of Mary (Damian), Martin (Briege), Dermott (Michele), Brenda (Sean), Dessie (Rosie) and Edel, a dearly loved grandfather and great grandfather and much-loved brother of Michael and Kathleen.
Thank you to everyone who called to the wake especially those who helped with organising and providing refreshments and those who helped with the parking. Our thanks also to those who sent mass/sympathy cards and expressed their condolences online. Thank you to those who lined the funeral route to the chapel and those who joined us for the beautiful requiem mass in St Malachy’s Church, Seskinore.
A special word of thanks to Father Sean McCartan for his spiritual guidance and support throughout. Thank you also for the beautiful requiem mass and to everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially the musicians Fergal Mc Aloon and Stevie Corrigan who provided beautiful and reverent music which added so much to the funeral service.
Thank you to Leo Donaghy, funeral directors, for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out, to Cathal Armstrong for providing the marquee and to Brendan McKenna, grave digger, for preparing Gerry’s final resting place.
Thank you to Farley’s Bar and all the staff for providing the lovely food and refreshments after the funeral.
Finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health professionals Gerry has met over the years but especially all staff at Slieve Na Mon nursing home who cared for Gerry with the utmost dignity and respect throughout his stay there but especially during his final days where he was treated with compassion and kindness.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude to all those who supported Gerry and who helped in any way during the wake and funeral.
All of this support has helped our family in so many ways to find strength and to celebrate and give thanks for Gerry’s life and your acts of kindness will not be forgotten.
Gerry was greatly loved by his family and everyone who knew him and he will be very sadly missed. May his gentle, kind and generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. Gerry’s month’s mind Mass will be celebrated in St Malachy’s Church, Seskinore on Monday, 2 March at 7.30 pm.

St Padre Pio pray for him.
