Gerry McLaughlin,
Clanabogan, Omagh, Co Tyrone.
Died 8th August 2025.
Gerry passed away peacefully on 23rd September 2025. He was a devoted family man, much-loved father of Kevin and a dearly loved brother, brother in law, uncle and friend. We, his family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.
Thank you to everyone who called to the wake in Grianan House Funeral Home. Sincere thanks to all who brought food and to those who helped serve tea, this was greatly appreciated. Our thanks also to those who telephoned, sent Mass or Sympathy cards, messages, flowers or donations in lieu, lined the funeral route or joined us at the Requiem Mass.
We are blessed to have had the love and support of our family, friends and neighbours, throughout this difficult time, this has helped us in so many ways to grieve as a family.
A special word of thanks to Father Malachy Gallagher C.C. for his spiritual support and the very comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, and our singer Louise Coyle who provided the beautiful reverent and uplifting music.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner, in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger for preparing Gerry’s final resting place. Our thanks also to Roisin of Nettles and Petals for the beautiful floral tribute and to the Fintona St. Patrick’s Hall ladies for the most welcome refreshments after the burial.
And finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the medical professionals with whom Gerry came into contact, especially the staff of Meadowbank Care Home, we are very grateful for the kindness and respect shown to him.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Gerry is loved and missed every day. May his gentle, kind, generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. His Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Omagh on Friday 24th October at 7.30pm.
Our Lady pray for him.
