The death has occurred of:
Gerry McVeigh
We extend our sincere gratitude to Fr Pat Hannigan, Parish Priest of Killeeshil, for attending Glenview Nursing Home and for the spiritual care, prayers and support he provided to Dad during his time there and in the days leading up to his passing.
We also thank Fr Brian Slater, Parish Priest of Donaghmore and Galbally, and Fr Conleth Meehan for concelebrating such a meaningful and comforting Funeral Mass.
A special word of thanks to the management and staff of Glenview Nursing Home, where Dad resided for over a year and a half. We are deeply grateful for the kindness, patience and attentive care shown to him, and for the warmth, support and welcome always extended to our family during that time.
We also wish to sincerely thank the Eucharistic Ministers who attended Glenview Nursing Home on a weekly basis, bringing Dad great comfort through their prayers and ministry.
We also wish to sincerely thank Ardmore Medical Practice, Dungannon, for their care, professionalism and support to Dad over the years.
We wish to thank Paudge Quinn and Quinn’s Funeral Directors for carrying out the funeral arrangements in such a professional, compassionate and dignified manner, and for providing refreshments afterwards at Quinn’s Corner.
Thank you to Malachi Cush for the beautiful hymns and music, which added greatly to the Funeral Mass.
Our heartfelt thanks to our neighbours, friends and extended community who supported us in so many practical ways — making tea, providing refreshments, and preparing Dad’s final resting place.
We wish to thank Galbally Community Centre for their generous support with catering items, including cups and related facilities, which was greatly appreciated.
We also thank KC Marquees for the provision of the marquee, signage and seating, and JMK Electrical for lighting and for ensuring the safety of all visitors.
We also wish to thank all who attended the wake and funeral, those who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards and messages, and those who contacted us through social media. Our sincere thanks to family, friends and local businesses for providing refreshments, and to Galbally Pearses GAC, Galbally Runners, and neighbours for their invaluable help with parking and stewarding arrangements.
Finally, as it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all who supported us in any way during this difficult time.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Dad’s Month’s Mind Mass will take place on Friday 27th February 2026 at 7.00pm in St John the Baptist Church, Galbally.
