The death has occurred of:
Giles DOHERTY
DOHERTY, 31st May 2026, peacefully at Deanfield Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family, GILES (retired School Principal, Slievemore Primary School, now St. Paul’s), beloved husband of Josephine, loving father of Andrew, Deirdre, Fionnuala and Giles, dear father-in-law to Maria, Paul, Damien and Rachel, a devoted grandfather to his 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, cherished son of the late Andrew and Josephine, dear and loving brother of Kathleen and the late Andrew and a caring uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle.
Giles will be reposing at his home, 1 Talbot Park, on Monday 1st June from 6:00pm.
Family time please from 10:00pm to 12:00noon.
Funeral leaving his home on Wednesday 3rd June at 10:20am to St. Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn for Requiem Mass at 11:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.
