His wife Patsy and the family of the late Hugh Hackett (RIP), wish to express sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who sympathized with and offered support to us following the recent sad loss of our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
We have been overwhelmed by the support and kindness shown to us by our family, friends, neighbours and wider community.
Thank you to everyone who attended the wake, brought food, sent cards or helped in any other way.
Special thanks are due to all those who helped to nurse Hugh during his struggles with dementia, the staff of Tallons pharmacy Sixmilecross, the staff of Glen Caring Omagh, the staff in Meadowbank Nursing Home and those in Ash and Oak dementia wards in the Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital. The care given to Dad in Ash and Oak was exemplary and the support given to our family during his time there made the daily visits so much more comforting.
Our thanks go to Father Sean Mulligan who administered the last rights and absolution, to Father Brian O’Kane who attended on the day of Dads death, to Monsignor Colm Curry who visited Hugh while administering in Beragh parish and Father Sean McCartan PP who conducted Dad’s funeral mass in the chapel and at the graveside with such dignity and to Clare Mc Aleer and Bernie Dillion for the beautiful music
Thanks also to Leo Donaghy and Paddy Montague for the dignified and caring manner in which they conducted the funeral arrangements and to those who prepared Hugh’s final resting place with such care.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our gratitude. The love, warmth and support of our wider families and friends will continue to be a source of great comfort.
Hugh’s month mind mass will be held on Sunday 14th May 2023 at 11:30pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception Beragh.
