The Last Track for Bogus
The sirens fade out and the kick drum grows still,
Leaving a silence no melody can fill.
We whisper the words to the anthem we knew
“Lager, lager, lager”—and weep for the loss of you.
You were the heartbeat, the spark in the smoke,
The warmth in the chill when the morning broke.
Now the strobes are all dark, and the venue is clear,
But the echo of Bogus is all I can hear.
The set has come to an end too soon,
Under the fading, indifferent moon.
Travel safely, sweet friend, to the quiet and deep,
While the bassline you loved rocks you gently to sleep.
Beyond the last track’s end, until we rave again xx

The lights have faded, the bass has dropped low,
And you’ve danced past the place where the living must go.
You didn't just walk through the days and the years,
You burned in the rhythm, you laughed through the fears.
With lasers of green and a kick from the drum,
You waited for drops that would never feel numb.
The floor was your temple, the crowd was your kin,
The place where the music let everyone in.
The speakers are silent, the morning is pale,
The strobe lights are resting, the neon has failed.
No more heavy basslines, no rush in the air,
Yet somehow I feel you still dancing out there.
So turn up the track for the soul that you were,
In the flash of the lights and the beat of the blur.
You’re onto the after-party in the sky,
Too full of pure energy ever to die.
We will miss you so much Bogus! Steven Jeanette Antonia and Nicole xxx Until we dance again ??

A friend to so many, with the biggest smile in the crowd. You’ll be missed more than words can say and remembered with so much love. Rest easy, my friend

We grew up in the shadow of the streetlights,
With scraped-up knees and secrets in the dirt,
Racing through the long and golden summers,
Before the heavy world had learned to hurt.
We built our castles out of fallen branches,
And mapped out galaxies upon the floor,
With time stretching out like an endless river,
Not knowing what the future held in store.
The years moved fast, the paths began to scatter,
The games we played grew quiet in the past,
Yet every time I look back at the beginning,
I see the moments that were built to last.
Though you are gone beyond the quiet skyline,
And left a space that nothing else can fill,
I hold the boy you were in all the noisy laughter,
Where we are running down the sidewalk still. Thanks for all the childhood memories Ian. You'll never be forgotten.
My thoughts are with your best friend and long time partner Lauren, your beloved daughter Aleena and the entire family circle. Love from Ellen, partner Nathan & the entire McDonald family circle xx
