The family of the late James Edward McGivern, who passed away on 17th July 2026, would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone who offered sympathy, support and kindness during their recent bereavement.

We are especially grateful to all those who called at the wake to offer their condolences, sent Mass or sympathy cards, and attended the funeral.

To the many friends and family members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, assisting with the preparation and distribution of refreshments, we are deeply indebted for your generosity and support.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Fr. McMahon and Deacon Rooney for their support, prayers and pastoral care in the period leading up to Dad's passing, and for their beautiful celebration of the Funeral Mass. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Canon Kearney for officiating at the funeral ceremony.

A special word of thanks to Maria Quinn for her beautiful singing during the Funeral Mass, and to Eddie Mclntyre for playing Dad's favourite accordion tunes.
Your contributions helped make
the service a fitting and memorable tribute to his life.

We would also like to express our gratitude to the staff of the Stroke Unit at Craigavon Area Hospital, the Hospital at Home Team, and Dr Ramsey for the care, compassion and support shown to James Edward in recent months. Your kindness and dedication will always be remembered.

Our thanks also go to Annaclone GAC for their support throughout the wake and funeral, and to the staff of St. Clare's Primary School for their condolences and kindness.

The family would also like to thank the Belmont Hotel for their hospitality and for accommodating family and friends following the burial.

A very special thank you to Grandad's twenty three grandchildren for their wonderful contributions throughout the wake and funeral mass.
Your readings, tributes and unwavering support were a great source of comfort to the family.
James Edward would have been immensely proud of each and every one of you.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Peter Doran Funeral Directors for their kind, compassionate and professional manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements. For the care and respect shown to James Edward and to our family we will be forever grateful.

Finally, a special word of thanks to all those who kindly made donations to Northern Ireland Chest, Heart & Stroke in lieu of flowers.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgment as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude.

James Edward's Month's Mind Mass will be held on Sunday 16th August at 11.00am in St. Therese’s Chapel, Banbridge.
