Jean Mary BROWNE SINCLAIR
Jean Mary Browne Sinclair, (78) of Richmond, VA, USA passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, with her family by her side in Chippenham Hospital. Born in Londonderry, N. Ireland to the late Samuel Browne and Jean Mc Beth Browne, Jean was preceded in death by her infant son Gregory Sinclair and her brother Samuel Browne.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Billy Sinclair and her sons Roger Sinclair (Suzi) and Kyle Sinclair. She is also survived by her brother Tom Browne (Emily), sister Olivia Brown (Colin); brother-in-law Dick Sinclair, sisters-in-law Margaret Sinclair Kelly (Peter) and May Sinclair Keenan (Paul); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
In 1981, Jean, Billy, Roger and Kyle relocated to Richmond, Virginia, USA, for a temporary assignment with Billy's employer Du Pont. The family was delighted when this transitioned to a permanent position and they became American citizens.
Jean was a vivacious, caring and loving person. Her priority was taking care of the family and everyone else, she always put herself last. She was an excellent cook and was happiest when entertaining friends and family. She welcomed everyone, and wanted nobody to be alone at the holidays, she touched many lives with her warmth and sincerity. Jean lived life to the fullest and travelled the world.
In her final three years, Jean had cancer, and she travelled that journey with grace and serenity.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr Mc Coy and his team at the Virginia Cancer Institute for their wonderful care, compassion and advocacy.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
