The family of the late Jim Finlay thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with them in their recent bereavement.

They wish to express their gratitude to the network of friends, neighbours and extended family who were on hand to support through this difficult time with food, flowers, cards and visits to the home.

They especially appreciated the help from friends, neighbours and family in aiding with the wake; co-ordinating parking and shuttle service to the home, making tea and attending to various details.

To all those who made their way from far and near to attend the wake, funeral or call at the house. It was a great comfort and a reminder of Jim’s very sociable personality. To the members of various organisations with which Jim had been involved over the years. Their kind words and expressions of sympathy meant a lot. In particular to Clogher Valley Rugby Football Club for the Guard of Honour at the funeral. Jim would have appreciated this immensely as well as the presence of so many friends.

To the ambulance crews and the police officers who attended to Jim after an emergency call. To Fred Martin and Sons, funeral directors who carried out the funeral with dignity and sympathy.

To the caterers after the funeral and the organist during the service.

A special thank you to Rev Edwin Frazer for all his pastoral help and guidance in the immediate aftermath of Jim’s death, for conducting the service at Glenhoy Church and his continuing support.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually the family hope that this will be accepted as a token of their appreciation of the kindness and support shown by the community.

Bertha, Paul, Martha and Thea, Alan and Katy
