The death has occurred of:
Jim HUNT
Wife, Una and children Peter, Anne and Kieran wish to sincerely thank all those who sympathised with us and prayed for us following Jim’s passing.
We are so grateful to all those who attended the wake, the Requiem Mass and to the many people who sent messages of sympathy, Mass cards and flowers.
To Fr. Kevin Mc Elhennon, we are indebted to you for your prompt spiritual attention to Jim in his final few days and the ongoing support to the family. Your homily was so befitting of Jim and was a source of quiet strength to many family members. We also acknowledge Fr Malachy Gallagher for his ministry on Jim’s return to Anne’s home.
To Orla and Nicola who filled the chapel with the beautiful renditions of Jim’s favourite hymns; we thank you.
To the readers, Sarah, Ciara and Orla; and to John and Eoin for the Offertory; we appreciate your contribution.
We wish to acknowledge the Sacristan Patrick and the Eucharistic Ministers – Margaret, Una and Lorna for their roles. Thank you also to the gravediggers who prepared Jim’s final place of rest in the family plot.
The extended Hunt family – Jim’s brother Peter, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews who attended Jim’s farewell Mass and carried him to his resting place were a reflection of the esteem in which Jim was held within the family. Una, Peter, Anne and Kieran are so appreciative of your support.
A special thank you is extended to the staff and students of Loreto Grammar School for your support and guard of honour provided at the chapel.
We cannot express fully our appreciation to the management and staff of Hillcrest Care Facility, for their dedication to Jim over the last 4 years, both as professionals and as friends. The dignity and support you gave to us all in his final few days was immeasurable – thank you. We truly acknowledge the touching guard of honour by Hillcrest staff on Arleston Road on Jim’s final journey.
We thank the doctors from Grange Medical Practice, in particular Dr. Quinn, Dr. Harte and Dr. Darcy who oversaw Jim’s medical needs in the last few years. Dr. Quinn’s attention to Jim in his last few days was remarkable.
Our deepest gratitude to Anne’s lifelong friends who along with neighbours worked so tirelessly during the wake, welcoming visitors and providing refreshments. To local businesses and friends who supplied food and provided additional resources to facilitate the wake, we extend our thanks.
Our heartfelt thanks to both Peter O’Kane (Funeral Director) and Leo Donaghy, for their professionalism and guidance throughout, and the dignified way in which Jim’s funeral was conducted, including the beautiful Mass booklet.
We thank the management and staff of the Village Inn, for the refreshments after the funeral.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our sincere gratitude and appreciation to you all.
Jim’s Months Mind Mass will be held on Sunday 30th November, at 9am in St Mary’s Church Killyclogher.
