Acknowledgement – Jimmy Devlin,
50 Tullycunney Road, Kiltamnagh, Omagh, Co Tyrone.
Died 4th December 2025.
We, the family of the late Jimmy, wish to extend our deep gratitude and warmest thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers and support during our recent sad bereavement. Jimmy was a well known and highly respected farmer, valued member of the local community and was the dearly loved brother of Bridie, Winnie, Lilian, Kathleen, Emmerick, Bernie, Martin and the late Mary and Eileen, and a much-loved brother-in-law, uncle and friend.
We wish to thank everyone who called to his wake, brought food, helped with parking and helped with refreshments. This was greatly appreciated. Our thanks also to those who sent Mass or Sympathy cards, messages, flowers or donations in lieu, lined the funeral route and to those who joined us at Jimmy’s Requiem Mass. We thank all his friends and neighbours who formed a guard of honour as he was being brought to his final rest. A special word of thanks to Fr Brian O’Kane for his friendship and pastoral support to Jimmy both in his home and in hospital. To Fr Kevin McElhennon PP for his support to Jimmy whilst in hospital and to Fr Malachy Gallagher CC for celebrating Jimmy’s Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and to everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, gift bearers and Eucharistic Ministers. We thank Marie Campbell and Louise Kirwan for the beautiful, reverent and uplifting music. Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger, Ciaran Maguire, for preparing Jimmy’s final resting place. Also, to Roisin of Nettles and Petals for the beautiful floral tribute and to Conor and the staff of The Coach Inn for the welcome refreshments after the burial.
We send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health care professionals who cared for Jimmy during his illness, especially the staff of Fintona Medical Centre, Altnagelvin Hospital, SWAH, the District Nursing team and the Omagh Palliative care team. We thank all the Careplus carers who tended to Jimmy in his home for their exceptional care and compassion and the staff of Una Cassidy Chemist for their constant care and support.
To all his friends and neighbours who visited him regularly during his illness, we thank you for the kindness and support you showed to him. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude. Jimmy is loved and missed every day. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace.
Jimmy’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Omagh on Saturday 10th January, at 5.30pm.
Our Lady pray for him.
