It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Higgins, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on August 5th, 2026.

Late of 31 Iniscarn Road, Creggan, Derry. May he rest in peace.

Beloved husband of Sharon. Devoted father of Laoi, Jo-Anne and Paul. Dearest father-in-law of Tessa, Alwyn and Laura. A loving granda of Gareth, Jade, Sarah-Louise, Ellie-Jo, Sarah, Ava and Eimear. Precious son of the late Tommy and Maureen Higgins. A much-loved brother of Rosaleen, Sean, Mamie, Des, Kevin, Jim, Siobhan, Sinead and the late Pat, Brian and Eilish. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his nephews, nieces, extended family circle, friends and neighbours.

Joe's remains will be reposing at his late home, 31 Iniscarn Road, this evening, Wednesday (August 5th) from 6:30 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Friday (August 7th) at 9:30 a.m. for Requiem Mass in St. Mary's Church, Creggan at 10 a.m. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
