Acknowledgement

The family of the late John McConnell wish to offer our heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to everyone who supported, comforted and sympathised with us during our recent, sudden and very sad loss.
We are especially grateful to the medical staff of the Cardiac Assessment Unit for the care, compassion and professionalism shown to John before his untimely passing, and to the PSNI for carrying out their duties with such dignity and sensitivity. Our sincere thanks also go to Sister Thelma Graham and Paramedic Nigel Simpson for the reassurance and support they gave our family at such a distressing time.
We wish to record our sincere thanks to Kevin and all the staff at Kelly’s Chemist for their unfailing attention, patience and dedication to John over the past 30 years, and to the doctors, nurses and administrative staff at Fintona Medical Centre for the guidance and medical care they provided throughout the years.
We are truly thankful to Canon Derek Quinn and Pastor Richard McConnell (nephew) for conducting such a beautiful and meaningful funeral service. A special word of recognition to Richard McGonigle (nephew), who so beautifully piped John to his final resting place, making the farewell especially moving and memorable. We also extend our thanks to the Loyal Orders for forming a guard of honour and carrying John to his final resting place — a gesture that meant so much to our family. We are indebted to the gravediggers for preparing his grave with such respect and consideration. We also thank Sexton Robin Johnston of Cappagh Parish Church for opening and preparing the church, arranging the seating in the church hall, and organist Heather Beattie for the lovely music.
Our gratitude goes to Armstrong Funeral Directors for their guidance, support and dignified professionalism throughout the funeral arrangements. We also thank Barbara and her team for providing refreshments after the funeral, and everyone who helped with food and tea in the family home during the wake. Special thanks to Judith from Floral Temptations for the beautiful floral tributes.
We are deeply touched by all who called at the home, sent cards, letters, flowers, messages of sympathy or telephoned, and by everyone who attended the wake and funeral. A special word of thanks to those who travelled long distances to be with us — your presence meant more than words can say.
We are also grateful to all who kindly sent donations in lieu of flowers to the Cardiac Assessment Unit, Omagh Care Complex.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a sincere expression of our gratitude.

“To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die.”
Forever loved and remembered.
