John (Red) Doran
It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of John (Red) Doran, (Aged 96 Years), suddenly but peacefully at Oakleaves Care Home, Derry on August 2nd, 2026.
Late of 15 Creevagh Road, Derry. May he rest in peace.
Beloved husband of the late Agnes. A much-loved father of Marina, Giovanni, Adian, Siobhan, Ciaran and the late Fionnbarr. A loving father-in-law of Frances, Basil and Rita. A dearly-loved grandfather of Paul, Jonathan, Rudi, Sebastian and Fionnbarr and great-grandfather of Arlo. Adored John to Ellen and Sarah. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his nephews, nieces, his wider family circle, friends and neighbours.
John's remains will be reposing at the McClafferty Funeral Home and Chapel of Rest, tomorrow Tuesday (August 4th) from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday (August 5th) at 9:30 a.m. for Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Long Tower at 10 a.m. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
