The death has occurred of:
John HARKIN
The family of the late John Harkin, 62 Lettershandoney, would like to thank all those from the area, the parish and further afield for the tremendous kindness they have shown since his passing on April 21.
We would particularly like to thank Fr McDermott and Monsignor Dolan for the comfort they provided; and Willie and Kieran and the superb team at WJ O’Brien & Son Funeral Directors, Eglinton. We are blessed to have such amazing people in our parish.
To his kind neighbours and friends, thank you so much for being the people you are – for being there for John when he needed, and being there for us in our hour of need.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended the funeral, sent Mass cards, messages, flowers and offered support and kindness during this difficult time. We thank those too who were unable to be at the wake or funeral but took the time to send messages or make donations to charity in John’s memory. We are especially grateful to Paschal for his perfect Bob Dylan song by the graveside.
Our families are fortunate to have so many good friends who helped so much to ease the pain of his loss.
A special thanks to the doctors and nurses who looked after John with such compassion and care over many years.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt appreciation.
We continue to miss John every day. Standing by a waterway where he once cast his fishing rod, or listening to a Bob Dylan song on the radio will always bring back memories of a good soul.
