Acknowledgement for John McCormack
Died 12th April 2026
John McCormack was a much loved husband and father and we are deeply indebted to those who cared for him in his final days and the many people who reached out to support us in various ways at this difficult and sad time.
It was a great comfort to receive excellent, sympathetic professional help and heartwarming to be surrounded by the love, thoughtfulness and generosity of the extended family, friends, colleagues and neighbours.
We deeply appreciate the exemplary companionship and assistance provided by John’s Carers from N.W. Care, Advanced Care and Aspire Care and the staff of Foyleville and Creggan Day Care Centres. Our sincere thanks to the Aberfoyle Medical Practice District Nurses, Dr. Loftus and GPs for their ongoing nursing, medical care and guidance. We are very grateful for the palliative care provided by Dr. Watson, WHSCT Out of Hours, and the Marie Curie Nurses.
Our thanks McClafferty Funeral Directors, especially Kieran and Warren, for their empathy, valued help and dignified care of all the funeral arrangements.
We wish to thank Fr. Clerkin, Fr. Seamus Kelly, Fr. Martin Kelly CSSp and Fr. McGeehan for John’s beautiful, comforting Funeral Mass enhanced by the music and singing of Robert Peoples and Fidelma Legge.
We will cherish the memory of all the words of appreciation and affection for John shared at his wake. Thank you to everyone who called at the house, sent Mass and Sympathy Cards, came to the funeral, joined via webcam, and gave donations to Concern Worldwide or the Alzheimer’s Society N.I. A special word of thanks to those who travelled a distance to be with us.
It is impossible to thank you all individually but please accept this acknowledgement as a sincere expression of our deep appreciation.
