5th May 2026. Peacefully at Lagan Valley Hospital, aged 73 years. Late of Rowan Drive, Seymour Hill.

Beloved son of the late Billy and Phoebe. Loving and much loved brother of Elizabeth, Isobel, Margaret, Lyn, David and the late Rodney, Jim and Bill.

Family and friends are welcome at his niece, Fiona’s home, 4 Lilac Walk, Seymour Hill, BT17 9QP each day from 5pm.

A service to celebrate John’s life will be held in Ronnie Thompson’s Funeral Church, 20 Ballinderry Road, Lisburn, BT28 1UF on Wednesday 13th May at 2.00pm; afterwards to Roselawn Crematorium for committal at 4.00pm.

It is with great sadness that I have to say goodbye to my dear friend John — a truly wonderful friend with a heart of gold and a sense of humour that could make anyone smile. John was funny, honest, and completely himself, and he touched the hearts of everyone who knew him.
He had a special way of bringing laughter even during difficult times and was always there to offer friendship, kindness, and support without hesitation. His generous spirit and warm personality made every moment brighter, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our friendship will stay with me forever.

Forever loved, always remembered.
