Acknowledgement and Month’s Mind Notice

The family of the late Joseph (Joe) Cunningham, 6 Gortmore Place, Strathfoyle, wish to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered sympathy, support and kindness following our recent bereavement.

We are deeply grateful to all who attended the wake and funeral, offered prayers, sent Mass cards and sympathy cards, or reached out with messages of comfort. Your thoughtfulness and support have meant so much to us during this difficult time.

We extend our special thanks to Fr Michael Canny for attending to Joe alongside the first responders, for his spiritual support and comforting words, and for celebrating Joe’s Requiem Mass with such care and dignity.

We are grateful to all those involved in Joe’s care, particularly the doctors and staff at Riverfront Medical, and to the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) and Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) for their assistance and compassion.

We would also like to thank Kieran and all the staff at W.J. O’Brien & Son Funeral Directors, Eglinton, for their professionalism, kindness and sensitive handling of the funeral arrangements. Our sincere thanks also to Fidelma McNamee for the beautiful singing, which added so much to the Requiem Mass. Thanks to Cassidy's Shop staff for providing refreshments following the burial.

A special word of appreciation goes to our wonderful neighbours, friends and extended family, whose kindness, generosity and practical support have been a great source of comfort.

The kindness and affection shown to Joe, both during his life and since his passing, have been a great comfort to us all.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a sincere expression of our gratitude. Your love, prayers and support will always be remembered.

Joe’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Oliver Plunkett Church, Strathfoyle, on Saturday 17 October 2026 at 6.00 pm.
Everyone is warmly welcome.
