The family of the late Kathleen Mary McAleese (nee Smiley) wish to express sincere thanks to all who sympathised with them in their recent bereavement. We would like to thank all who visited, sent cards, messaged, telephoned or attended the Thanksgiving Service. It was very much appreciated. Your presence, kindness, thoughts and prayers gave comfort and strength at this difficult time. Thank you to all who donated, in lieu of flowers, towards the work of Chest, Heart and Stroke.

We are indebted to the Care staff in the Dementia Unit of Leabank Nursing Home for their care of mum over the past 15 months, and for their support to us as a family in mum’s last few days.

A special word of thanks to Rev Geoffrey Haugh for his pastoral care, words of encouragement at the family home before the funeral and for conducting the Thanksgiving Service. We also wish to thank Mark, Kathleen’s grandson, and his team, for providing the refreshments after the service in the Allen Adair Hall, and the ladies from the Church who helped serve the tea and coffee.

Thanks also to the funeral director, David Robinson, and his team for guiding us through the funeral arrangements with such care and professionalism and for the dignified way in which the funeral was conducted.

It is impossible to thank everyone individually but we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.

Mary, Annette, Pearl, Ivor and Gail - Kathleen’s Family
