John Kelly, Dromore, Co Tyrone.
Died 21st October 2025.
John passed away peacefully on the 21st October after a long and industrious life. He was a widely respected, hard-working businessman and valued member of the community. But primarily he was very much a family man. Devoted husband of Briege, beloved father of Jerome and Eugene, father in law of Paula and Brenda. Dearly loved grandfather of Eoin, Conor, Emer, Ronan, Niamh and Greta, and a much-loved brother, brother in law, uncle and friend. We, his family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.
We would like to acknowledge the many gestures of sympathy we received. We are grateful for every Mass and sympathy card, telephone call, online and social media message. We especially thank those who visited our home, brought food, helped, stood along the funeral route, and to those who joined us at the requiem Mass.
We are blessed to have had the love and support of our family, friends, neighbours, and work colleagues throughout this difficult time. Your kindness has helped us in so many ways, allowing us to grieve and find strength together as a family.
A special word of thanks to Father Denis Dolan PE for his spiritual support and the very comforting Requiem Mass and to Canon John McKenna PE who concelebrated the Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our singers Patricia Rodgers and Clare McGovern who provided the beautiful, reverent and uplifting music.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger Anton for preparing John’s final resting place. Also to Sheenagh of Bumblebee Garden for the beautiful floral tributes, and to the St. Patrick’s Hall ladies for the most welcome refreshments after the burial.
Last but not least, we want to convey our sincerest thanks to the many carers and medical staff who tended to John during his final years and, in particular, over these recent weeks. We are very grateful for the kindness and respect that you showed to him.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
John is loved and greatly missed every day. May his passionate, kind, generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. His Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Davog’s Church, Dromore on Saturday 22nd November at 7pm. Our Lady pray for him.
