Leontia Rice (née Kearney)

The husband and family of the late Leontia Rice wish to express their heartfelt and sincere appreciation and gratitude to all those who extended their sympathy, kindness and support following their recent sad loss.

We are deeply touched by the generosity of all who visited our home, attended the funeral, or tuned in via webcam, both at home and abroad; those who sent Mass and sympathy cards, letters, gifts, food and flowers; those who offered messages of comfort; and everyone who helped in any way. Your kindness and thoughtfulness have been a great source of comfort to us at this difficult time.

We would like to sincerely thank Father Maciej for attending Leontia during her illness, for his spiritual guidance, and for celebrating Leontia’s beautiful Requiem Mass. Our heartfelt thanks also go to Niamh Lavery and Ciaran Scullion for their uplifting musical contribution, and to Brian for the care and attention taken in preparing Leontia’s final resting place.

A special word of thanks to the staff at Moira Surgery, the Ulster Independent Clinic Belfast, the Sciensus at-home team, Belfast City Hospital, and Dr Rhun Evans for the kindness, compassion and expertise shown to Leontia over the last number of years. We are indebted to you all and deeply grateful for the care and support you gave to Leontia and our family.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to McAlinden and Murtagh Funeral Directors for their compassion, guidance, kindness and professionalism throughout this difficult time. Your gentle support and care for Leontia and our family were greatly appreciated.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere gratitude.

Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Eamon, daughters Leontia, Susan, Geraldine and Helen, son Patrick, and entire family circle.

Leontia’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, 4th October, at 9.30am in St Colman’s Church, Kilwarlin.

St Padre Pio of Pietrelcina and Our Lady, pray for her.
