The death has occurred of:
Lexie Bonner
We, the family of Lexie Bonner, wish to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all our family, friends and neighbours who have supported us following the heartbreaking loss of our beloved Husband, Daddy and Granda.
The family are deeply grateful to everyone who called, sent messages, cards and floral tributes or donated to Foyle Hospice, attended the wake and funeral; especially those who travelled long distances to be with us during this difficult time. We took great comfort from the endless stories and memories shared. To those who provided refreshments or helped in any way, your kindness and thoughtfulness has not gone unnoticed.
A sincere word of thanks to Dr Paddy McShane and respiratory nurse Michelle Doherty for the timely and caring manner in which they helped Lexie.
To Dr Peter Bryson and all the staff in the North West Cancer Centre, also the Pharmacy staff at Altnagelvin Hospital for the outstanding care and support Lexie received. We are forever indebted to you all for everything you did for Lexie.
Thanks to the wonderful doctors and reception staff of Quayside Medical Practice, and staff at Boots pharmacy, Lower Road for their continuous support and care for Lexie throughout his illness.
To the Rapid Response Team, Foyle Hospice Home Care team, the Marie Curie Home Care team, Macmillan Palliative Care team and the district nursing team, particularly Orla Kehoe; thank you for the compassion, dignity and support shown to Lexie and to us over the last few months.
Special thanks to Fr Ignacy of St Mary’s Church for celebrating the Requiem Mass.
To Ciaran, Ciara and Ramon for the beautiful music at home, in the chapel and at the graveside; this was so personal and a very fitting tribute to Lexie. We are so grateful for your kindness.
Thank you to our family who contributed to the Mass through readings, prayers, singing and the offertory. To Lexie’s former colleagues from Boots for the guard of honour at the Chapel, such a lovely tribute to the caring man he was. Lexie got a beautiful send off, which he truly deserved.
To Kieran, Warren and all the staff at McClafferty’s Funeral Directors, thank you for the caring and dignified manner in which you carried out the funeral arrangements. Your professionalism was exceptional.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere gratitude and appreciation.
