The death has occurred of:
Maggie DONNELLY
The family of the late Maggie Donnelly wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all who supported and sympathised with them following their recent sad loss.
We would like to thank everyone who attended the wake and funeral, sent cards and messages of sympathy, brought food, made donations, or helped us in any way during this difficult time. To our neighbours and wider community for their kindness, prayers and support.
We would like to thank Dr. Deehan at Strule medical practice who as granny’s GP took care of her over the years. We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals who took great care of our mother during her time in Altnagelvin hospital. To the ambulance crew who helped transport our mother home from hospital in her final days, we thank you also.
In particular we would like to extend a very heartfelt and special word of enduring gratitude to the wonderful team of district nurses who helped care for Mum in her last days of life. We especially want to thank Emma and Adelaide who along with their team went over and above to bring comfort to mum. Additionally, a special word of gratitude to Marie Donnelly (Advanced Nurse Practitioner in specialist palliative care) whose compassion, knowledge and professionalism will be forever appreciated. We also wish to thank the rapid response and Marie Curie nurses who attended to Mum out of hours. Without all of you, we would not have been able to fulfil Mums last wishes to be at home surrounded by her family.
We would also like to thank Fergal and Paddy and all the staff at Farley’s funeral directors for their support, compassion and professionalism and who provided much needed comfort and guidance over mum’s wake and funeral. We also wish to thank Ciaran Conroy (gravedigger). Louise and Ciara McNamee and Stefan Walker for the beautiful music at Mum’s funeral mass. To Beragh Red Knights for the use of their facilities and to Farley’s for providing the refreshments following Mums funeral.
We also wish to extend our deepest gratitude to Fr. Sean McCartan who attended Mum in hospital, frequented the family home and spent much time with Mum and our family during her final days. We were especially comforted by his presence at mum’s passing and the touching funeral mass that was a beautiful tribute to our beloved mother.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation to you all.
Mum’s Month’s Mind mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Chapel, Beragh on Thursday September 17th at 19.30.
May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
