Malachy Kelly

Died - 31st January 2026

The family of the late Malachy Kelly wish to express their sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to all those who sympathised with them on the heartbreaking loss of their beloved husband, father, father-in-law, brother, grandad and great-grandad and much-loved member of the extended family.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended the funeral, those who joined via webcam, sent Mass cards, flowers, sympathy messages, and to all who offered comfort and support in any way. Your kindness and thoughtfulness have been a great source of strength to us during this very difficult time.

A special word of thanks to the paramedics who attended and worked so tirelessly at the end of his life. We profoundly appreciate what you did for Malachy.

We are also sincerely thankful for all those who cared for Malachy for their compassion, dedication and the gentle care shown to him, over the past few months.

Our sincere appreciation to Fr. McFaul and Fr. Canning for their spiritual support, prayers and for celebrating the beautiful Requiem Mass.

We extend our thanks to Michael Keating at Beechwood Flowers for the lovely floral tributes which were arranged with such care and dignity.

We are most grateful to Dr. Ford, Dr. Cochrane and Dr. McGill, and to all the staff at Park Medical for their professionalism, tenderness and diligent care throughout Malachy’s illness.

Our deep appreciation to Lauren and Beth for their beautiful singing, which added so much comfort and meaning to the requiem mass.

Finally, our sincerest thanks to Mr. Kieran Connor and all his staff at McClafferty Funeral Directors for the dignity, care and compassion shown to ensure that Malachy was laid to rest with such grace and compassion, we are truly and forever grateful.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude.

The Month Mind Mass for Malachy will be held in St. Mary’s Chapel, Creggan on Saturday 7th March at 6.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and join us in remembering him.

Malachy will be forever loved and sadly missed.

The Kelly Family.

May Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, comfort us in our sorrow and lead Malachy to the golden light of her Divine Son. We take comfort in the words of Sister Clare: 'Why should I be afraid of death, if I am going to go with the One I have longed to be with my whole life?' May he now rejoice forever in the presence of the Lord. Amen."
