Died 9th January 2026 in her 92nd year peacefully at Antrim Area Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Late of Unity Street, Carrickfergus.

Beloved wife of the late Thomas. Loving and devoted mother to Gary, Gail, Joanne, partner Sammy and the late John. A proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Loving sister of Eleanor and the late Brian, George and Annie and their families.
A Service of Thanksgiving for Hazel’s life will be held in Carrickfergus Congregational Church on Thursday 15th January 2026 at 1.30 p.m. followed by interment in Victoria Cemetery.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired to Alzheimer’s N.I. c/o S&J Irvine Funeral Directors 31-35 Irish Quarter South Carrickfergus BT38 8BL (cheques made payable to the above charity please; card payments welcome via telephone on 028 9335 1540 Mon-Fri 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Cash donations also welcome.)

Hazel will be loved and remembered always by the entire family circle.

God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb, He gently closed her weary eyes and whispered “Peace be Thine”.
