The wife Geraldine, daughters Michele (Michael), Mairead, Enya (Conor), brother Colum, sisters Mary, Jane and Majella and entire family circle wish to extend sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all those who sympathised with them on their sad loss of Martin.
Thanking friends, relatives, neighbours, colleagues, the communities of Lurgan, Mullaghbrack, Markethill, Armagh and further afield who attended the wake and funeral mass, brought mass and sympathy cards and sent messages of condolence. To those who travelled a long distance and from abroad.
A special thanks to present and former colleagues who worked with Martin during his 35yr plus career in the NICS.
We were also most touched by the support and condolences offered by the GAA community, of which Martin was part for most of his life initially as a player and latterly a mentor, including the poignant tributes from Mullabrack, St Peters, Lurgan, Clady, Armagh Ladies, St Brigids, Belfast and for the guard of honour from Clady.
To all those who provided invaluable emotional and practical support, brought food and helped at the wake. A special thanks to Isobel, Michael and family, also to Noreen and Bronagh.
To Lydia Heffron, family friend and lawyer to whom we are most indebted for the emotional and professional support and guidance offered to Geraldine and the family during Martin’s sudden bereavement and repatriation from Lanzarote.
We express our heartfelt and sincere thanks to the parishes of Mullaghbrack and Lurgan.
To Fr. Michael Woods for the spiritual and emotional support offered to the family and for celebrating the beautiful funeral mass. Also to Fr. Colum Wright for the emotional and spiritual support offered and in concelebrating the mass.
To the sacristan team and to Niamh Murray for the music provided.
Finally we extend our sincere thanks to JJ McArdle & sons for the professional manner in which they conducted the funeral.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our profound gratitude and appreciation.
Martin’s month mind mass will be held in St James of Jerusalem Church, Mullaghbrack on 11th October at 11.30am.
