Mary McCullagh (née nee McBride)

We, the family of the late Mary McCullagh, wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised and supported us in our recent sad bereavement. We are very grateful to our family, friends and neighbours who helped us during this time and we wish to particularly acknowledge, once again, our nearest neighbours the McCullagh family, whose help and support during the wake & funeral will always be deeply appreciated.

We thank everyone who came to the wake and funeral, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, enrolments, telephoned, called at the house, brought gifts of food, everything was just so thoughtful and considerate. Sincere thanks to Patrick, the members of Glenelly St Joseph’s GFC, and the surrounding community, for organising and stewarding the traffic during the wake and funeral.

A heartfelt thanks to Fr Donnelly for taking the time to visit during Mary’s hospital stay and for his, and Fr McCawille’s, respectful celebration of the Requiem Mass. We also warmly thank Mary for the beautiful singing and to Christine for her role as Sacristan. Thanks also to Kieran Kirk Funeral Director for the helpful, caring and professional manner in which he organised the wake & funeral. We are so grateful that Gary from Devlin Media provided such excellent live streaming of the funeral that family members unable to attend in person could feel included in Mary’s Requiem. Thanks also to John for the dignified resting place he prepared. Many thanks too for Anna and the team who provided the lovely tea & refreshments in the Parish Hall after the funeral.

We are extremely grateful to the medical staff at Altnagelvin Hospital, particularly the kind staff of Ward 50, who provided such exceptional care and made sure Mary’s final weeks were as comfortable as possible. Also, thanks to Dr McAuley, Dr Mangard & the staff of Sperrin Family Practice, and Corry’s Chemist Gortin, for all the care & helpful advice provided to Mary recently and through the years.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our deepest appreciation & gratitude.

Mary’s Month Mind Mass will take place at 10am on Sunday 1st June in Sacred Heart Church, Plumbridge. May God rest her gentle soul.
