Maura Byrne (née Smith)
Byrne (nee Smith) (Lurganare, Jerrettspass) died 18th December 2025, peacefully in The Derrymore Suite, Avila Nursing Home. Maura RIP. Wife of the late Francie and much-loved mother of Paul, Adrian, Frances (Canavan) and Damian. Grandmother to Odhran, Siofra, Oran, Dara, Jack, Ben, Adam, Ceallagh, Erinn, Aislinn and Aoibh. Sister of Olive McCann and the late Owen. Mother-in-law to Dearbhail, Jacqueline, Orlaith and Declan. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul.
Her remains will repose at her daughter Frances’ home 4c Old Road, Poyntzpass, Newry, BT35 6TQ from 2pm until 9pm on Friday and Saturday. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Sunday at 1pm in St. Mary’s Church, Barr. House private on Sunday morning please.
Deeply regretted by her sorrowing sons, daughter, grandchildren, sister, daughters in law, son in law, nieces, nephews and entire family circle.
