The death has occurred of:
Michael McKeown
The family of the late Michael McKeown would like to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported and sympathised with them during their recent bereavement.
We have been deeply touched by the kindness shown to us by those who visited our home, attended the funeral, sent Mass or sympathy cards, telephoned, sent messages of condolence, brought food, or helped in any way during this difficult time.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Archbishop Eamon Martin and Canon Francis Brown for their spiritual care, guidance, and for celebrating the beautiful Requiem Mass along with Canon Liam Stevenson, Fr Sureish, Fr Donal and Fr Andrew.
We are also grateful to The McBennett Sisters and accompanying musicians for the uplifting and thoughtful music which enhanced the liturgy.
We note the medical assistance given to Michael by the staff of Belfast City Hospital, in particular the Intensive Care Unit and Oncology Department.
We would also like to thank The Carrickdale Hotel for the excellent refreshments and hospitality provided. Your assistance was greatly appreciated.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Francie & Louise of McAlinden & Murtagh, Funeral Directors of Lurgan for their professionalism, compassion, and guidance throughout the funeral arrangements. Their support and attention to detail and coordination with amongst others Charles Digney & Sons, Funeral Directors of Newry and Brian Nugent Gravedigger, helped ease a very difficult burden at a challenging time.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude on behalf of both the McKeown and Monaghan families.
Michael’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 25th October 2026 at 12noon in Newry Cathedral, Hill Street, Newry.
