Died 17th December 2025

We, the family of the late Michael Mc Glade, wish to extend our deep gratitude and warmest thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers and support during our recent heartbreaking bereavement. Michael was a widely respected, loved and a valued member of the Omagh and Drumquin communities. He was the devoted husband of Marian, adored father of Kathryn, Emma, Chloe and Aoife and a dearly loved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.

We are blessed to have the love and support of our family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues throughout this difficult time. This has helped us in so many ways to grieve and find strength together as a family. Thank you to everyone who came to the wake, helped and brought food. We are especially grateful to our neighbours in Ashbourne Heights for their kindness, help and support. To all our dear friends who helped in the kitchen during the wake, we thank you. We are deeply grateful for everything you have done and continue to do for us.

Our deepest thanks to all those who sent Mass or sympathy cards or donations in lieu of flowers and those who joined us at the Requiem Mass. We thank most sincerely those who changed their holiday plans and travelled from New York, Australia, Belgium, Spain and England to be with us. We would like to thank Rev Father Malachy Gallagher for his spiritual support and the very comforting words spoken during Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation to everyone who took part in the Liturgy especially Sean for his lovely summation of Michael’s achievements at the beginning of Mass, to all the readers, and to Emer, Samantha, Ailish and Keri for the beautiful and meaningful music. To his much loved friends, brothers- in-law, nephews and Karate club members who acted as pallbearers, thank you, we know he would have been so proud of you all. Thank you to funeral director Peter O’Kane for his advice and support and the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out.

And finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health care professionals with whom Michael came into contact, especially SWAH A&E staff and the staff of Ward 31 in Altnagelvin Hospital. We are so very grateful for the professionalism, care, kindness and compassion shown to Michael in his final days.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude. Michael is loved and missed every day. He brought the music, the love, the fun, the colour and light into the lives of our family. May his thoughtful, patient, kind and gentle soul be granted peace and eternal rest.

His Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Omagh on Wednesday 21st January at 7.30pm.
