The family of the late Olive Allen would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us following mum’s passing.
We would like to thank all those who called at the house, sent messages of condolence, sympathy cards, flowers and to those who gave donations in lieu of flowers. We were deeply touched by the kindness shown to us during this difficult time
Thank you to all who attended the funeral service especially those who made the journey from Scotland, Donegal and all parts of Northern Ireland.
Our grateful thanks is extended to the staff of North West Care. For many years they cared for Mum with exceptional kindness, compassion, dignity and professionalism, with many becoming friends that Dad looked forward to seeing every day. We would also wish to thank the Paramedics who attended Mum on several occasions over recent years, and to the excellent care provided by the staff at the Emergency Department at Altnagelvin Hospital on each of these occasions. In addition, a special thanks goes to all those who provided the excellent care and compassion to Mum in her final days from the Hospital at Home Team, District Nursing, Marie Curie and the Riverfront Medical Practice. Their support particularly during Mum’s final illness brought great comfort not only to Mum but the entire family, and we will always be deeply grateful for the compassionate care they provided.
Our heartfelt thanks are extended to D & R Hay & Sons Funeral Directors for their exemplary compassionate care.
We would also like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the Officers and Firefighters of Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service who so kindly formed the Guard of Honour at the church on the day of the funeral, your presence was a great source of comfort to our family.
Our sincere thanks are also extended to the ladies of Glendermott Presbyterian Church who generously prepared and served refreshments following the committal service. Their warm welcome was deeply appreciated by our family and by everyone who attended.
A special thank you to Rev Stephen Hibbert for his support and for conducting such a comforting and meaningful funeral service.
Finally, a special word of thanks is due to Mum’s dear friend, Sue McCormick, whose faithful friendship meant so much to Mum over many years. Throughout Mum’s illness, Sue visited regularly and her kindness and loyalty was a wonderful blessing to Mum and us all.
It is impossible to thank each one of you individually so we hope that you accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation.
