Pat McCarney.
Main Street, Fintona, Co Tyrone.
Died 28th July 2021.
Pat passed away peacefully on the 28th of July, a widely respected, hard-working, devoted family man and much-loved father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. We, his family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.
Thanks to all our friends, neighbours and local businesses who brought refreshments to the house and to all who helped in any way throughout the wake.
The amount of telephone calls and messages of condolence sent privately, online or via social media was overwhelming and much appreciated by us all. These, along with the number of mass and sympathy cards and donations to Dementia NI in lieu of flowers expressed to us the true esteem in which our father was held.
Thank you to everyone who attended the funeral Mass or joined in via webcam and to all who lined the funeral route. A special thanks to Fintona Pearses G.A.C and Fintona Fire Service for the Guards of Honour.
A special thank you to Fr Kevin Connolly for celebrating the requiem Mass and also to Mary the Sacristan and everyone who assisted with the service, especially Sinead who provided the beautiful, memorable music.
Many thanks to McAtee Funeral Directors for their help, advice and professionalism throughout. Our thanks also to the gravedigger, Tommy for preparing Dad’s final resting place.
We are most grateful to all who looked after and cared for Dad during his illness. Our thanks to all the carers who supported him at home over the many years before he went into Hillview Lodge Nursing Home in Omagh. The care he received both at home and in the care home was exceptional. He became a bit of a character in the home and struck up a great relationship with the staff especially Sandra and we are grateful to you all.
Thanks also to The Western Health and Social Care Trust, Fintona Medical Centre, Una Cassidy Pharmacy, the Ambulance Service and everyone who helped with Dad's care.
Our thoughts are also with family members who were unable to attend due to Covid restrictions. We will see you all soon hopefully.
Pat’s Month’s Memory Mass will be celebrated in St. Lawrence's Church Fintona on Saturday 11th September at 10.00am and may also be viewed via Donacavey Parish Webcam.
