Patrick Anthony (Tony) KEENAN
The family circle of the late Tony Keenan, would like to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to all the kind relatives, friends and neighbours who sympathised and supported us during our recent bereavement. To those who sent mass cards, messages and flowers, brought food, telephoned or called to offer condolences, your kindness was greatly appreciated. Thank you to all who attended the wake, particularly those who travelled long distances. A special word of thanks is extended to those who gave up their time to offer assistance with parking and help serve tea at the house over both nights. To all who attended the funeral and lined the funeral route, the respect shown was of great comfort to us all.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Chaplaincy of Fr K McElhennon and the spiritual support of Fr J Devine. To the dedicated care of Tony’s medical staff, Consultant Neurologist (Dr Ferghal McVerry), Professor Max Watson, Consultant Caroline McLoughlin, Sr Thelma Graham, her team and all the staff at Palliative Care Team (Omagh Hospital & Primary Care Complex) for their incredible compassion and care in Tony’s last few month’s with us. To the Doctor’s, District Nurses and staff of Sperrin Family Practice and Corry’s Chemist, Gortin, for their dedication and care. Our thanks are extended to Tony’s invaluable home carer’s, Marie Curie nurses and support received from the MND association.
We sincerely thank Philip Morris Funeral Directors, for the dignified, respectful manner, in which they carried out the funeral arrangements. We would like also to thank the gravediggers who respectfully prepared Tony’s final resting place. To the drivers of the vintage tractors and cars for leading the funeral procession. We offer special thanks to Fr B Donnelly (P.P), Fr F Bradley and friend Fr P McCawville for the comforting mass conducted, to the sacristan, readers and to Ciara Fox for the beautiful music provided. Thank you to Ann-Marie Mossey for providing refreshments and to Greencastle Community Centre for the use of the hall.
At this time, we are blessed in remembering the lifetime of friendship, support and kindness shown by Tony’s relatives, friends and neighbour’s in Greencastle and surrounding areas who enriched his life, visited him regularly and telephoned him at home. As it is not possible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt thanks.
Tony’s Month’s Mind mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Greencastle on Saturday 5 September at 6.00pm.
