The death has occurred of:
Patrick Gerard (Paddy) McNicholl
Úna and her children, Pádraig, Odhrán and Caoimhe, together with the extended family of the late Patrick Gerard (Paddy) McNicholl, would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who supported us during this very difficult time.
We would particularly like to thank all the medical professionals who cared for Paddy over recent years. Their kindness, compassion, dignity and respect meant so much to Paddy and to us as a family, and we will always be grateful for the exceptional care he received.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to everyone who helped us in so many ways during the last month, in particular Selena, who provided incredible support to our family, especially Pádraig and his additional needs, when we needed it most.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who brought food, gifts and refreshments, and to those who made donations to Benbradagh Day Centre, a place held in the highest regard by our family and Paddy, and which has cared so wonderfully for his son, Pádraig, over the years.
Our sincere thanks to Fr Sweeney for the beautiful Requiem Mass. His warmth, kindness and personal touches captured Paddy so perfectly and brought great comfort to our family. We also thank Annie Jo the church sacristan, Joelene & Martin for the beautiful music, the gravediggers for preparing Paddy’s final resting place with such care and respect, and the Benedy Community Association and Caroline McGilligan & staff for providing refreshments after the funeral.
To everyone who attended the Mass, joined via webcam, called at the wake, sent Mass or sympathy cards, telephoned or sent messages of sympathy, thank you. Your presence and support meant more than words can express.
Finally, our deepest gratitude goes to everyone at McLaughlin Funeral Directors for the exceptional care, dignity and compassion shown to Paddy and to our family throughout. Seeing Paddy looking so peaceful and so like himself brought us great comfort. The guidance, kindness and support shown to our family throughout were truly outstanding, and we will always be grateful for the care given to Paddy on his final journey.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deepest appreciation and gratitude to all who supported us and helped us through this difficult time.
Paddy’s Month Mind Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 3rd of September at 7:00pm in St Patrick’s Church, Dungiven.
May St. Patrick and St. Brigid guide his soul to eternal peace.
