The family of the late Paul Diamond, of 58 Culmore Road, Derry, wish to express their sincere gratitude to all who supported us following Paul’s passing. We are deeply thankful to everyone who called at the house, offered condolences, sent Mass cards and sympathy cards, sent emails, phoned or texted, gave donations, brought food or flowers, and attended the wake and funeral.

A special word of thanks to our extended family, friends, and neighbours for their invaluable help and support—not just during the wake, but also throughout the days we waited for Paul to return home.

To all the medical and nursing staff who cared for Paul during his illness with such compassion, we are sincerely grateful.

Thank you to everyone at Diamond Corrugated—his work family, past and present—for your wonderful support and the beautiful guard of honour when Paul returned home, and outside the church.

Thank you to Philip O’Doherty and all at Paul’s beloved Derry City Football Club for your support and the guard of honour at the church.

To everyone at Derry Well Women, thank you for your ongoing prayers and support.

Sincere thanks to Patricia and the staff from her coffee shop for all the food and help during the wake.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Father Micheal McGavigan for the wonderful celebration of Paul’s life at the Requiem Mass, and for his beautiful tribute during the homily. The prayers at home and at the graveside brought great comfort to our family. Thank you also to Father McDevitt and Father Forbes for concelebrating the funeral Mass.

Thank you to Robert Peoples, the violinist, for playing at our home and church, to organist Áine McDaid, and to Fidelma McNamee for the beautiful music, which brought love, beauty, and spiritual comfort to all who gathered with us. Thank you, Donald Hill, for the uplifting rendition of How Great Thou Art.

To Kieran O’Brien, his father Willie, and all the staff at WJ O’Brien Funeral Directors—thank you for your caring, dignified, and professional handling of the funeral arrangements.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our Yorkshire family, the Schofields of Radcliffe Funeral Services, who cared for Paul and brought him back to his beloved Derry with love and dignity.

We regret that it is impossible to thank everyone personally, but please be assured that if you said a prayer or remembered us in your thoughts, we are extremely grateful.

We hope this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as a token of our profound gratitude and genuine appreciation.

Paul’s Month’s Mind will be celebrated on Saturday, 21st June, at 6:15pm in St. Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn.

Those who touch our lives stay in our hearts forever.
