Died 11th January 2026. Peacefully at Parkmanor Oaks Care Home, Dunmurry. Late of Malone View Road, Belfast. Much-loved husband of Valerie and loving father of Kerri. Also father-in-law of Jon and devoted grandfather of Isaac, Ethan & Joshua.

A Service of Celebration for Peter’s life will be held in Roselawn Crematorium on Saturday 17th January at 10.00am. No flowers please. Donations in lieu to Alsheimer’s N.I. c/o Elwood & Capper Ltd. Independent Funeral Directors, 238 Kingsway, Dunmurry, BT17 9AE

So sad to hear the news today. Mr Agnew inspired a generation of compassionate and committed young teachers in the early days of New-bridge, he fostered at atmosphere of excellence and yet still encouraged warmth and fun. His vision and courage brought the dream to life at a time when it wasn't easy to dream of peace and reconciliation. He inspired so many of us to become great teachers & school leaders.
