Peter Joseph McGurk
died 7th May 2025

We wish to share our heartfelt thanks to our family, cousins, friends and neighbours who generously supported us during Peter’s illness, wake and funeral and during this difficult time.

We pray for our good friends and neighbours who have helped my father on the farm during his life. We thank them for all their hard work and kindness, may God reward them for their generosity.

We are grateful to everyone who attended the wake and funeral, sent Mass cards or Sympathy cards. Thanks to those who called at the house, brought food and refreshments or assisted in any way.

We thank those who provided transport to and from the house during the wake. We are also grateful to everyone who helped in preparing the church and grave prior to and after the funeral. Thanks also to the readers and all those who participated in the Mass.
Thanks to Fr Hughes (PP) for the eloquent celebration of Peter’s Requiem Mass. Thanks also to Fr Hughes and Fr Whan for their prayers and support while Peter resided in Magherafelt Manor.

We are deeply indebted to the staff of Magherafelt Manor Nursing Home who cared for Peter with such empathy, dignity and compassion.

We thank the District Nurses, Dr Brown, Dr Hunter (RIP) and Dr Laverty who cared for Peter with such diligence and expertise over the years.

A heartfelt thanks to the carers who supported Dad and enabled him to remain in his own home.

Sincere thanks to Gerry Loughran for the beautiful musical accompaniment. Thanks also to the Millwheel Bar for the catering after the funeral.

Grateful appreciation to Niall Loughran Funeral directors for their professional and dignified management of the funeral arrangements. Your help and support was invaluable to us.

Peter’s daughter (Martina), Son- in -law (Martin), cousins and wider family circle extend their thanks to everyone at this time. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, I trust that this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere gratitude.

The Month’s Mind Mass for Peter will be celebrated on Saturday 7th June at 6.30pm in St. Mary’s Church, Dunamore.
