We, the family of the late Peter McGinn, his wife Carmel, children Martina, P.J and Colm, son-in-law Dermot, daughter-in-law Aideen, grandchildren, brothers and sister wish to extend our deep and sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with us over our recent sad loss. To the extended McGinn and Grant families, close friends and neighbours who offered their tireless support and help throughout Peter’s illness, wake and funeral, we wish to express our appreciation and thanks.

Our sincerest thanks to all who provided food and refreshments, called at the house, sent Mass/Sympathy cards, messages via text/social media, flowers and those who attended the funeral, your presence with us at this time was very much appreciated.

A special word of thanks to Fr. Charlie Byrne PP who regularly attended Peter during his short illness, this brought him and us his family great comfort during this difficult time.

We found great comfort in his Requiem Mass and extend a heartfelt thanks to Fr. Brian Fitzpatrick, Monsignor John Clarke, Canon Frank Kearney, Fr. Michael Murphy and Deacon Gerry O’Brien who con-celebrated and made it so personal. Thanks to Des McNeill for his guidance to all the priests on the day of the funeral.

A sincere thank you to Clonduff Lourdes Committee, other Lourdes Committees from around the Dromore Diocese and INF Foresters, who both formed the guard of honour and also carried Peter on his final journey to the Church in a very dignified manner.

Thanks to the Organist, Eileen Mooney, the Choir and soloists Matthew McGinn and Roisin Monaghan for the beautiful singing which made the Mass so meaningful to us.

We are eternally grateful to Dr. Wade, Dr.McAlonan, the team of District Nurses from Rathfriland Health Centre and Life & Time, without whom we would not have been able to spend precious time at home together as a family.

Thanks also to the Diamonds Restaurant for the catering and the INF for the use of the hall and for the use of their chairs and stools during the wake.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere gratitude. Mass has been offered for your intentions.

Peter’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 16th September at 6.00pm in the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Ballymaghery, Hilltown.
