We, the family of the late Philomena Ryan (Mena, nee McLaughlin), Moortown, wish to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who sympathised with us on the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

We are deeply grateful to our extended family and kin, her nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends for the care and support shown to us at this sad time of loss. We thank all those who attended the wake, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, messages of condolence and flowers. Our heartfelt gratitude also to the many people and businesses that brought food to the family home during the wake. We are grateful to all who shared their memories with us and told us lovely stories about her as a young woman which were an inspiration and comfort to us.

We are especially grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff of Moneymore Medical Centre for their years of unfailing care for Mena. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Coagh Pharmacy, her Community Nurses and Trust homecare team, all of whom helped us care for her in her own home where she was comfortable and content.

We gratefully appreciate the very moving funeral service celebrated by Father Gerry Tremer and thank him most sincerely for spiritually attending Mena in recent years. Our thanks also to the sacristan, eucharistic ministers and to Margaret Anne and Patrick for the music that enhanced the liturgy so beautifully.

Thanks to Moortown St Malachy’s for traffic management. Our appreciation also to the committee of Moortown Parochial Hall and to Donna Marie and her team for the catering and refreshments after the funeral.

A special word of thanks to Conan, Pat and all involved at Lavery’s Funeral Directors for the dignified care of our mother and towards us as a family in guiding us through preparations for her funeral. We gratefully appreciate and thank Finn and Gerard for preparing her final resting place with our father; and Rory at Old Cross Memorials for engraving her name on their headstone before the Months Mind mass.

We trust and pray that this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as a sincere token of our appreciation and thanks. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your attentions.

Mena’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Moortown, on Saturday 14th February at 6pm.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help pray for her.
