The death has occurred of:
Philomena Fox (née McGoldrick )
We the family of the late Philomena Fox wish to express our heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude to everyone who sympathised and supported us during our recent sad bereavement.
In the most difficult days of our lives, we have been comforted by the kindness of those around us. We are especially grateful to our extended family, neighbours, friends and all who supported us during this incredibly difficult time. In Mummy’s own words “We are so blessed”.
A special word of thanks to our community nursing team, palliative care team and Campbells Surgery, who cared for mummy in her final weeks with such compassion, dignity and kindness. We thank the team at Belfast Cancer Centre and Dr Gordon from the Ulster Hospital for the care and support given to Mummy and us as a family throughout her illness.
We are deeply grateful to the large number of people who attended Mummy’s wake and funeral, who brought mass cards, flowers, sent messages of sympathy, and shared treasured memories of mummy. Your presence and support brought us great comfort.
Thank you to family, friends, neighbours and businesses who helped in any way at the wake, brought or sent food, provided catering, transport, marquees and sat up at night – your generosity and assistance was greatly appreciated. A special thank you to Brian O Donnell and family for organising parking and co-ordinating traffic and transportation for the large crowds attending mummy’s wake. We extend our appreciation to Chris, Mary and Ryan McCabe for providing the buses to accommodate this.
Thanks also to Galbally Community Centre for the use of the hall, carpark, equipment and to Micky McVeigh and Micky Gillespie for all their assistance.
Our heartfelt thanks to Fr Slater who celebrated Mummy’s beautiful funeral mass and Fr McGuckin and Fr Breslin for their visits and prayers during this time. A special word of thanks to Angela Morgan for the beautiful singing and fitting music during the funeral mass.
We express our sincere gratitude to Eoin and Paudge Quinn for their kindness and for the professional and dignified way they carried out the funeral arrangements. It truly reflected the kind of wee lady Mummy was. You both were a great support to our whole family during such a difficult time. We also thank the gravediggers who prepared Mummy’s final resting place with the utmost care and attention.
We extend our appreciation to all those who formed Guards of Honour at mummy’s funeral, your presence was a deeply moving tribute and a great source of strength throughout the funeral.
We have been deeply touched by the wonderful support we have continued to receive from family, friends, neighbours and colleagues since Mummy’s passing. We are truly blessed and sincerely grateful for the kindness and care shown to us all.
As it would not be possible to thank everyone individually who has been so supportive since Mummy’s passing, we trust that our acknowledgement will express our sincere appreciation and everlasting gratitude to all of you. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Mummy’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday 22nd May at 7pm in Church of St John the Baptist, Galbally.
"Quietly, you made the world a kinder and more beautiful place"
