Newell ( Ballymartin ) 26th March 2025.

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing of Raymond Newell, 4 St Joseph’s Bungalows Ballymartin, BT34 4PF. Raymond died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Dorothy and devoted father of Mairead, Raymond and Siobhan. Father-in-law to Michael, Sharon and Martin. Grandfather to Gavin, Laura, Danielle, Ryan and Chloe. Great Grandfather to Freddy, Aida-Rose, Annie, Rián, Rosie and Rayá.

Brother of Lena, Patsy, Bernie, Helen, Philip and the late Vincy.R.I.P.

Raymonds Requiem Mass will be on Saturday 29th March in St. Joseph’s Church Ballymartin at 1:00pm. Lifting from the family home at 12:30pm. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Wake will end at 10pm each evening (Thursday and Friday). House to be private on morning of funeral please. Deeply regretted by the entire family circle.

Donations in lieu if desired to Kilkeel RNLI. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Dear Dorothy and Family
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Raymond.
Please accept my deepest condolences during this incredible difficult time.
Raymond was not just a valued member of C E Stevenson & Sons., he was a true pleasure to work with. His unwavering work ethic and willingness to help others made him a remarkable presence in our lives and I will never forget him. It was a privilege to withness his dedication and kindness firsthand.
I fondly remember how my son in law, Bob, from Australia who worked with us for a short period way back in the day, formed a special bond with Raymond. He often spoke of their time together and affectionately referred to him as “Pops.” It was clear that Raymond made a lasting impression on him,just as he did on all of us. Bob also sends his heart felt condolences to you and the entire family.
Please know that even I unfortunately can not attend Raymond Funeral as I am away at this time but my and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow. Raymonds legacy of strength and warmth will always be remembered and cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him .
