Died 1st November 2025.
We, the family of the late Rene, wish to extend our deep gratitude and warmest thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers, and support during our recent sad bereavement. Rene was a widely respected lady, devoted wife of the late Eugene. Adored mother of Gerard (Trisha), Patricia (late Seamus), Kathleen, Benny (Emer), Nuala, Eugene (Aine), Theresa (Peter) and Sinead (Ciaran), much loved mother in law, grandmother and great grandmother, and a very dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.
Thank you to everyone who attended the wake and the Requiem Mass, some people travelling long distances to do so. Thank you to those who helped at the wake house or brought food, this was greatly appreciated. Thank you to Stephen Barrett for directing and parking traffic and to Clanabogan church hall for the use of their car park.
Our thanks also to those who sent Mass or Sympathy cards, messages, or flowers and lined the funeral route. Thank you to the staff and pupils from St. Davog’s Primary School.
We are blessed to have had the love and support of our family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues, throughout this difficult time, this has helped us in so many ways to grieve and find strength together as a family.
A special word of thanks to Fr Peter McCawille S.M.A for his spiritual support and the very comforting Requiem Mass. Thanks also to Fr Brian O’Kane S.M.A who attended mum during her illness and to Fr Kevin Mc Elhennon and Fr Thomas Canning for their support throughout the wake. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan, Geraldine Quinn and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, and our musicians Marie Campbell and Louise Kirwin who provided the beautiful reverent and uplifting music. Thank you also to Gerrry Quinn for videoing the funeral mass.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner, in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravediggers Ciaran Maguire and Charlie Quinn for preparing mum’s final resting place. Also to Sheenagh of Bumblebee Garden for the beautiful floral tributes, and to Drumragh Sarsfields G.A.C. and Farley’s Bar for providing the most welcome refreshments after the burial.
And finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health care professionals who helped care for mum especially; Dromore Surgery, Slevin’s Chemist, District Nurses and Lakeland Community Care, particularly Theresa and Breda. Thank you also to Mary from Marie Curie. We are so very grateful for all your care, help and assistance and for the kindness shown to our mum.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Mum is loved and missed every day. May her gentle, generous, kind soul be granted peace and eternal rest. Her Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Drumragh on Friday 5th December at 7pm. Our Lady pray for her.
