The sister, brothers and extended family of the late Father Eugene Hasson, PP, Omagh (Drumragh), RIP, wish to express their sincere thanks to all who sympathised with them on their recent loss. We are grateful to everyone who attended the wake and funeral, sent Mass cards, messages of sympathy or letters, and offered support in any way, especially those who travelled long distances to visit Eugene or to attend his funeral.

Special thanks are extended to Bishop McKeown, Archbishop Martin, and the religious and priests who visited Eugene and supported him throughout his illness, and who concelebrated his funeral Mass. We are especially grateful to Fr John Phair for his thoughtful homily, which so sensitively reflected Eugene’s life and vocation, and to Fr Peter O’Kane for his help and support in organising the wake and funeral. The family also wish to express their sincere appreciation to the medical professionals who cared so compassionately for Eugene at home, in Omagh and Altnagelvin Hospitals, in the Foyle Hospice, and to the district nurses and carers.

The family are deeply thankful to the parishioners and people of Dungiven, Drumragh, Greencastle, Glendermott, Lavey, and Claudy; to those who provided hospitality in St Joseph’s Hall and Emmaus Hall; and to the many volunteers who gave so generously of their time and assistance over the days of the wake and funeral. We also wish to thank Eugene’s friends from Loyola University, Baltimore, Maryland, and the Benedictine Sisters, Ridgely, Maryland, for their continued support. Thanks are extended to Charlie Lynch and Seamus McLaughlin, Funeral Directors, and to those who prepared Eugene’s grave.

As it would not be possible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Our Lady of Derry, pray for us.
St Eugene of Ardstraw, pray for us.
