12th April 2026 suddenly at home, Lennox Avenue, Belfast. Beloved husband of Brenda, devoted dad of Chris and Owen, and doting granda to Thomas, Amy, Charlotte, and Harriet. Also brother of Mary and the late Liz, and father-in-law to Karen and Alex.

Following a private committal, a Service of Celebration of Richard's life will take place on Saturday 18th April 2026 at 12.30pm in The Chapel of Unity, Methodist College, Belfast, BT9 6BY.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to The Buddy Bear Trust, either directly (11 Killyman Road, Dungannon, BT71 6DE) or via Richard's much loved tribute page www.jamesbrownfuneraldirectors.com (tributes and donations).

Richard will be widely missed by his former colleagues in Methody, where he served for 20 years until his departure as Vice Principal in 2000.
