The family of the late Rodney Buchanan wish to express our heartfelt and sincere thanks to everyone who supported us following the devastating loss of our dearly loved Rod.
We are deeply grateful to all our amazing family, devoted friends, neighbours, cycle mates, colleagues and wider community, for the overwhelming kindness and support shown to us during this heartbreaking time. Thanks to everyone who attended the wake, funeral, sent cards, flowers, messages and tributes, brought food, helped at our home and kept us in your thoughts and prayers.
We will be forever grateful to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust and Albin International, for the care shown to Rodney’s remains and to us as a family, during this life shattering event. Their work and attention to detail was exceptional and they held our hearts with sincere care, every step of the way, during Rod’s final journey home to us. May God forever bless you all for this.
To Harps Cycle Club, who lost one of their devoted members, you will always be secured in our hearts as a large part of our lives, for the support and help you gave during Rod’s life and since his passing. A special work of thanks to Thomas and Seamus for working with the emergency services diligently and promptly, during such a distressing event. May you always return home safe.
A special word of thanks to Niall Loughran Funeral Directors, who were on call to support us during this ordeal, in the most professional and caring manner.
To Fr Boyle for celebrating Rod’s last service in a personal and heartfelt ceremony, your prayers and service, brought great comfort to us all.
The love and support we have received has brought us comfort and strength and it will never be forgotten.
It would be impossible for us to thank everyone individually, so please accept this acknowledgment as a token of our deep appreciation to you all.
Rod's Months mind service will be held in Holy Trinity Chapel, Cookstown at 6pm on Saturday 23rd May 2026.
I don't know what they are called the spaces in-between seconds -but that's how often we think of you.
