Acknowledgement
Rodney's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out in support since Rodney’s passing.
Our deepest thanks to all the staff at Foyle Hospice who cared for Rodney in his final days. To the District Nurses, Hospice nurses and healthcare workers who looked after Rodney at home since his diagnosis, we are so grateful. Thanks to Dr Julieanne Scott and specialist nurse Elaine Parsons in Belfast who not only supported Rodney but also the wider family and built a community of support around us that we couldn’t have done without. Thanks also to the staff of Ward 31 who took such good care of Rodney at the beginning of his illness.
We’d like to thank our immediate and wider family circles. We simply couldn’t have gotten through the last few months without you all. We love you and appreciate you all.
We are grateful to Dean Nigel Cairns for providing a lovely service at home for Rodney and supporting the family during that time. Thanks also to Fr Canny of Chapel Road for the service by the graveside.
Thanks to W J O’Brien & Sons Funeral Directors, who looked after everything and provided great guidance to the family.
Finally, thanks to everyone who has reached out with messages of support and kindness during this time. To everyone who attended the wake, funeral, sent cards, messages, made tea, donated to the hospice, and showed their support in any way we are deeply grateful.
