We, the family of the late Simon Dougan wish to express our sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who sympathised with us on the loss of a very much-loved husband, son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, and great uncle.

We are deeply grateful to our extended family, friends, neighbours, the Yellow Door family and business colleagues who attended the funeral, sent cards, messages and letters, and/or kindly made donations to NIPANC.

Thanks also to those friends and family who were inspired to volunteer, donate, and organise fundraisers for NIPANC in Simon’s name. He would be so impressed.

We are especially grateful to Doctors Park and Gallagher and the whole Mandeville unit oncology and nursing team at Craigavon Area Hospital; Macmillan and Marie Curie nurses; The doctors and district nursing team at Gilford Health Centre, and the Craigavon area palliative care team. Everyone showed such kindness, compassion and care towards Simon which allowed him to stay at home.

A special word of thanks to Rev Ivan Thompson for his pastoral care and support and for conducting the funeral services. Thanks also to those who delivered tributes to Simon at the service – it meant a lot.

Thanks to the congregation of Knappagh Presbyterian Church for all their kindness and assistance at the funeral, and for Yellow Door Catering for keeping us so deliciously well fed on the day.

Sincere gratitude to Stephen Stoops and his team for their professionalism, efficiency and attention to detail during the preparations and funeral.

Your kindness will always be remembered.

“Remember me with smiles, not tears for all the joy through all the years."
