HIGHAM, SONYA MARIA (née Ferguson)
Died 2nd April 2026. Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved and devoted wife of Ronan, and a deeply loved and proud mother of Jessica, Sophie, Jim and Ronan, and a treasured grandmother to Charlie, who brought her endless joy. Sonya’s parents Peter, Mary and her brothers Peter, David and Thomas will miss her endlessly.

Sonya was the heart of her family. Her love, kindness and quiet strength shaped the lives of those closest to her and will remain with them always.

Sonya will be remembered for her warmth, her gentle nature, her thoughtfulness, and the deep care she showed to family and friends. She had a calm presence and a generous spirit, and her home was always a place of welcome, comfort and love. She gave so much of herself to others, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her.

Late of 9 Chapel Road, Glenavy.

Rest in Peace.
Callers will be welcome at the family home on Friday and Saturday from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm.

House private on Easter Sunday - family only, please.

Sonya will leave her home on Monday at 11.30 am to arrive at St Joseph’s Church, Glenavy, for 12.00 noon Requiem Mass, which can be viewed at:

Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
